The old
railroad embankment you are viewing in this photograph has very
significant value with the areas local history. It
runs parallel to Krafts Mill Road just
on the North side of Jefferson,
directly across from the Rebert homes.
President
Lincoln traveled this railroad twice;
once while he was on his way to give the Gettysburg Address.
People came by the hundreds from as far away as Hanover, PA to view the train as it passed
through.
Are we really going
to let the Sewer Authority cause destruction to this? Please
contact the
York County Historical Society
and express your concerns in this matter.
